I too have a rheumatology appointment next week!! Phoned the consultant's secretary yesterday and asked for an emergency appointment for something to be done about my knees. (I'm totally cheesed off with the constant pain and being unable to walk properly; it's about 11 weeks since surgery and instead of one bad knee I now have two!Scared )

No problem, she gave me 11.30am on the 7th! Amazing!!! A result ThumpUp, well a start at least!!

Good luck Rose, Ailsa and Dorothy!

Hi Lyn, Rose, Ailsa and Dorothy, great news that you've all got appointments so soon, maybe the new intake of doctors that started last month have acutally freed up consultants to sort the real problems. Lyn I hadn't realised your knees where still so bad, they definitely need sorting for Christmas, lets hope they can come up with some answers.
Love to you all
Sheila

Yes - fingers metaphorically crossed for us all! So sorry your knee op hasn't brought you the relief it should have Lynn. That's very frustrating.

Rose - post and let us know how you get on next Friday. My appointment is the Monday sfter - but I'm happy to be going on a Monday as I have an absolutely hideous day at school on Mondays!

Good luck with yours too Dorothy - October seems to be a good month for appointments!

One question I have been wondering about - my GP says as I have now failed on MTX, Hydroxy and Plaquenil, I will be eligible for 'something more exotic'! Is it worth asking to try another DMARD first?

Have a good day - nearly nearly weekend! XX Ailsa

Hi Lyn

Sorry to hear you have been having these problems with your knees after all this time, no fun at all, just pleased that you are being seen shortly.

Take care, Julia x
